Companies in Italy can meet the legal requirement for B Corp Certification by adopting the societa benefit (benefit company) legal status, created in Italy in 2016. Italian companies must become a societa benefit for certification.

B Lab requires companies to complete the legal requirement at the highest level of corporate governance as possible, and only in specific circumstances for the legal requirement to be completed at the highest operational level (i.e. where the company has any activity). For more information about how to complete the legal requirement, we recommend referring to the Italian Country Partner
